The big shelf
Good gear, powered up before it leaves the counter.
We run a small seafront shop in Margate for working retro kit — every board gets switched on at the bench, priced fair, and posted out the same week.
From living-room consoles to cabinet spares
Six corners of a small seafront shop. Tested where it counts, priced like we'd take it at the counter — and posted UK-wide once you're sorted.

Recaps & repairs
Dead sound, no picture, a drifting stick — most of it is caps or a cold joint. We quote before we touch it.
Trade-ins
Bring the old console down or post it in. We'll weigh it up against the floor price and pay cash or knock it off a buy.
Grading a box
Inherited a loft full of carts? We'll sort the silver from the spares and tell you honestly what's worth keeping.
Cabinet bits
Sticks, buttons, harnesses and PSUs off cabs that didn't make it — pull a part for your own build.
A free continue in your first box
New faces get a little extra taped inside the first parcel — a brass token, a strip of prize tickets and a few stickers. No code to punch in, no sign-up, no list to join. It just lands with your machine.
Worth about £18 · first order only · added by Reggie at the bench
Reggie ran the pier arcade. Now he runs this.
The shop started in 2015 with a van-load of cabs nobody wanted off the old Dreamland floor. Reggie kept the ones that still had a kick in them, fixed the rest, and the back room has smelled of flux ever since.
Nothing leaves here untested. If a console needs a recap before it'll behave, it gets one. If it can't be made right, it goes in the spares drawer — not on the shelf with a fib on the label.

Heard across the counter
Posted my old Mega Drive in for a recap and it came back better than the day I bought it. Sound's spot on now.
Drove over for a Game Boy for the grandkids. Got a proper tested one and a little brass token in the bag — they loved that.
Reggie went through a box of dad's old carts with me, no rush, no sales patter. Took the spares off my hands too.
The questions we get most
Is there any warranty on a used console?
Ninety days on anything tested, on top of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If it sulks in that window, post it back and we'll fix it or refund it.
Can you post it, or is it shop-only?
Both. We send by Royal Mail Tracked 48 from £4.40, and it's free once your order's over £60. Or come to 11 Marine Drive and carry it home.
Do you take trade-ins?
Yes. Bring the kit to the counter or post it for a quote. We pay cash or take it off the price of whatever you're buying — your shout.
How do I pay?
Card, PayPal, Apple Pay or bank transfer for posted orders; cash too if you're in the shop. For posted gear we send payment instructions by email once the order's pinned down.
Can I come and try it first?
Course. The counter's open Tuesday to Sunday, ten till six. Most machines are plugged in on the floor, so you can have a go before you decide.
